An Introduction to Person Centred Active Support (Syd)

Person Centred Active Support is an evidence based approach that teaches disability professionals how to provide the right amount of support for people with disability to be engaged in meaningful everyday activities of their choice.
This one day introductory workshop will cover:
- the evidence base
- the approach
- implementation tips and tricks
- resources and much more.
This one day workshop is suitable for anyone working in the disability field such as direct support professionals, group home/day program staff and staff in management positions.
About the Facilitators:
Laura Hogan is an Occupational Therapist (Bachelor of Applied Science). She also holds a Masters of Health Science (Developmental Disability) and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Laura has significant experience working with people with disability across the lifespan with a special interest in supporting adolescents and adults with complex support needs.
Sarah Wagstaff holds a BA (Psych)(Hons), M(Teach)(School Counselling) and is currently undertaking a Masters of Health Science (Developmental Disability). She has extensive experience supporting the behavioural needs of people with disability in various roles, including behavioural therapist, teacher and school counsellor.
Cost: $265 pp inclusive of GST, includes a full day workshop, training materials, morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
