One of Brain Injury SA’s newest initiatives is now off and running, with 11 participants taking part in the first SoConnect program.
SoConnect is aimed at increasing the connections to mainstream support services and the broader community for people with a disability that impacts cognitive functioning.
It is a program for all age groups and an outstanding team is helping to equip participants with skills so that they can better understand their disability, address their personal goals and increase their awareness about mainstream support services.
The program is also helping participants to increase their social connections and, of course, to have loads of fun along the way.
SoConnect is run as a 10-week program, with participants attending sessions for 2–4 hours each week.
This program has been made possible thanks to an NDIS grant through its Information Linkages and Capacity Building funding, enabling us to run SoConnect for two years.
Brain Injury SA is planning a further program in the metropolitan region before the end of the year and are also looking at a regional program toward the end of 2018.
If you know someone who might benefit from SoConnect, please get in touch with our team on (08) 8217 7600 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
