Offered by the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences , University of Adelaide, this course is for people who are responsible for assisting with the administration or administering of medications to people with a disability.
The course will teach safe medication practices especially concerning oral and enteric medications. Recognition of swallow and adverse reactions will be discussed. Safe practices and skills will be emphasised with opportunities for participants to practice within the skills laboratory setting.
This short course is designed for people responsible for assisting people with disability to medicate, such as disability support workers. This course is not suitable for registered or enrolled nurses.
