The last week of June is Deafblind Awareness Week. Celebrating the life of internationally famous deafblind author, lecturer and activist Helen Keller, born on 27 June 1880, the week is devoted to individuals who are deafblind and raises community awareness on the challenges they face.
Members of the South Australian deafblind community invite you to join them at a discussion panel and morning tea. You will hear first hand from three panellists about deafblindness. They will share with you some of the challenges they experience, as well as some of the things that have helped or enabled them. Additionally, panellists will talk about their goals for the future as NDIS participants and the supports and services they need to achieve them.
