Reminder: tomorrow is the DEAI 11th AGM

Members were sent the below email reminder via MailChimp today:

Dear DEAI member,

We hope this email finds you well and you’ve had a great start to 2021 – we think we probably say this every year, but can you believe it, January has just about been and gone already.

As our AGM is tomorrow, we are touching base with a few reminders / updates. We hope these help in preparation for tomorrow.
AGM

We are ecstatic to see the level of interest for the AGM and appointment to the Committee.

The AGM is an opportunity for you to consider joining the Committee to actively contribute to the governance and representation of your profession. You are able to seek appointment during the AGM if you are interested in a position, but have not yet completed a nomination. Please refer to the DEAI Committee Members’ Roles and Responsibilities for further information and Nomination Form / Proxy Form.

Currently a nomination has not yet been received for the Chair Person role. This role is integral to the success and sustainability of the DEAI. As a result we strongly encourage members to nominate if you are interested in a leadership role on the DEAI Executive Committee and have a strong passion for Developmental Education. Our profession can only continue to flourish with leadership and a well-resourced Committee.
Virtual AGM Link

This year the DEAI have introduced a virtual AGM option (Microsoft TEAMS). Thank you to those who patiently waited to receive this update as we navigated the best way forward with the Tonsley Hotel.

We understand and appreciate you may not have an account on MS TEAMS. However, you will be able to join the AGM without an account and be a ‘guest’ on the platform.

Please use the meeting link details below to join us on Monday. For your convenience we have also listed a link below which includes instructions on how to join an MS TEAMS meeting – these are directly from Microsoft.

Two of our fantastic Committee Members, Lauren Busch (Secretary), and Sarah Baillie, will be on MS TEAMS and taking questions as well as comments. Lauren will be accessible via the DEAI email (contact@deai.com.au) also. Please reach out to Sarah or Lauren should any tech issues occur or you require assistance.

We look forward to seeing you online if you’re unable to make it in person.

In preparation for the formalities of the AGM, please find the 2019 10th Annual General Meeting Minutes below for your review. We will require these minutes to be accepted and seconded by individuals who attended the previous AGM. Thank you in advance for your help with this!

Extended registration time

We have made the decision to extend the registration time in light of the large number of attendees. Originally the time was 6:15pm – 6:30. Registration will now be available from 6pm – 6:30pm. Please see our wonderful Committee Members, Emilie Ripinskis (Treasurer) and Lisa Shepard to register. Emilie and Lisa will be directly in front of the function room entrance. Following registration please make your way to a table. Tonsley’s staff will be taking orders at tables for those interested in a meal. Meals will be payable via cash or card.

Please note, the Tonsley have informed the DEAI that attendees can choose if they wish to utilise the COVID check in or not. This is due to the DEAI being required to record all attendees prior to entering and providing this information to the Tonsley at the close of the AGM.

Online registration will automatically occur via MS Teams for those joining us virtually – please join us at 6:30.
