An exciting new project is being undertaken by the South Australian Department for Health and Wellbeing, in collaboration with the Health Consumers Alliance of South Australia (HCASA), to develop a Statewide Consumer and Community Engagement Strategic Framework.
The new Framework for the health system will build on the current SA Health Framework for Active Partnership with Consumers and the Community.
People involved with health services, consumers, and community organisations are invited to share their views on how best to involve consumers and the community in the planning, decision-making, delivery and evaluation of health services.
There are many important reasons why having consumers involved in these things brings about better outcomes for people and the health system, and the new Framework will make sure that this engagement is part of the work of all of SA Health’s Local Health Network Governing Boards.
You can refer to the attached consultation schedule for more details about how and when to have your say. All of the input that HCASA receives will inform the new Statewide Consumer and Community Engagement Strategic Framework.
Right now, you are invited to share your views about the Definitions relating to consumer and community engagement, via an online survey. While this stage ends on Friday 26 April 2019, there will be many more opportunities to have your say.
More information about the next stages of consultation on the new Framework will be made available closer to the time.
