Provide feedback on the Draft Charter of the Rights and Freedoms of Vulnerable Adults
The Office for Ageing Well is in the process of establishing an Adult Safeguarding Unit (ASU). It will open later this year and will be responsible for receiving and responding to reports of suspected or actual abuse or neglect of at-risk adults, and for providing safeguarding support tailored to the needs and wishes of the person experiencing the abuse. The work of the ASU will be underpinned by the Charter of the Rights and Freedoms of Vulnerable Adults (the Charter).
In December 2018, the Office for Ageing Well conducted a community workshop to inform the establishment of the ASU and, in particular, what needs to be considered from a community perspective. Participants also had an opportunity to provide feedback on the draft Charter which has now been revised and updated.
The Office for Ageing Well is seeking the views of the broader community on the revised draft Charter which is attached to this email in PDF and Word formats.
You are invited to comment on the draft Charter either by completing an online survey or participating in one of two online focus groups:
- Participate in the online survey here (or type in: www.surveymonkey.com/r/HBTKQHV). The survey opened on 27 March 2019 and closes on 15 April 2019.
