Our Voice is a small but committed group of people living with intellectual disability.
The group incorporated in 2007 and since then have had input into many people’s lives. Ian Cummins is their Chair and will often be seen at political events raising the banner for a better life for people living with intellectual disability.
The AGM will launch the Our Voice Project, an NDIS funded project which will ensure that South Australians living with intellectual disability will be properly informed with understandable information so they are able to have a real and meaningful input into decision making about their own lives.
Our Voice would really welcome more members and associate members. There will be membership forms available at the AGM. Membership is free and members will have an opportunity to have real input into the future direction of Our Voice. Currently membership consists of Full Members, people living with intellectual disability or learning difficulties, and Associate Members, family and friends of people living with intellectual disability.
Supporters (paid workers who attend meetings to support members) are also welcome at the meetings.
Part of the Our Voice Project will include a peer led conference next year. Members of Our Voice will direct the conference, it’s topics and it’s speakers.
Our Voice would appreciate it if you could please distribute this flyer and the information to all who may be interested.
