ASID is holding its 53rd Conference, at the Hilton Adelaide from 6–8 November 2019. The conference theme is ‘The Journey to a Good Life – Taking Control’.
ASID is offering scholarships to people with an intellectual disability who require financial assistance to attend the conference. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must:
- Identify as having an intellectual disability
- Live in Australia or New Zealand
- Need support to pay for accommodation and/or travel for either yourself or your support person/family carer to attend the conference.
Scholarship applications must be completed and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 23 August 2019. It is important to note that the maximum scholarship amounts may not cover all expenses to attend the conference. If you receive a scholarship, you will be required to pay for the outstanding amount.
A Vision of a Good Life: Our Journey
Registrations are also open for the conference A Vision of a Good Life: Our Journey.
This event will be held at the Hilton Adelaide on 20 September 2019 from 10am-3pm. It is being organised by Our Voice SA, a group for South Australians living with intellectual disability.
This conference will be presented by people living with intellectual disability, for people living with intellectual disability. Information shared will focus on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (the NDIS), goal setting and self-advocacy.
