Developmental Educators Australia Inc (DEAI) is the professional association representing the unique, diverse and dynamic profession of Developmental Education. Developmental Educators are multi-disciplinary disability professionals, having completed a professional practice degree in disability studies. As qualified disability professionals, Developmental Educators, also known as DE’s, occupy roles in a variety of disability, human service, mental health, and educational settings, in the State and Federal Government, and non-government sectors. Developmental Education is a Self Regulating Allied Health Profession and is recognised by the South Australian Government, the National Disability Insurance Agency and listed in the Pricing Arrangements under Capacity Building Supports and in the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Practice Standards Verification Module.
